Abstract: In un quartiere periferico londinese popolato da asiatici vive il giovane pakistano Omar, che convince suo zio Nasser ad affidargli una sua lavenderia a gettoni che va male. Rilancerà l'esercizio - ribattezzato Powders, grazie all'aiuto di Johnny, con cui stringe un legame sentimentale. Ma è questo solo l'inizio di una lunga serie di peripezie.
