Abstract: By the Name of Tania è, come dice il titolo, un film che parla “a nome di”, e al tempo stesso “per mezzo di”; un film che raccoglie voci, testimonianze, tracce di esperienze collettive. Le esperienze sono quelle di tante ragazze peruviane costrette a prostituirsi mentre sono alla ricerca di condizioni migliori di vita. Le parole e i pensieri di Tania, il personaggio creato nel film, sono il risultato del montaggio dei loro pensieri, delle loro preoccupazioni, desideri, sogni, paure.
According to the title, By the Name of Tania speaks using the specific name of someone else, picking up voices, testimonies, and traces of collective experiences, the experiences of so many young women forced to prostitute themselves in Peru in search of a better life. The words and thoughts of Tania, the character created in the film, are put together departing from their thoughts, their worries, desires, dreams, and fears.
