Abstract: "The Images of Jongo" mostra il viaggio dei fotoreporter nel loro giorno libero ad una festa della comunità nera in Quilombo São José da Serra, un'organizzazione sociale con 150 anni di esistenza, e mostra la lotta per la conservazione della cultura africana nello stato di Rio de Janeiro. In queste testimonianze, la fotografia è un elemento multirazziale, con radici nel territorio africano e tutte le componenti che si muovono tra il Brasile urbano e rurale, tra i sentimenti che definiscono l'Africa e l'America Latina. Questo film è punteggiato dalla produzione di immagini di alcuni fotoreporter di Rio de Janeiro alla Festa de Jongo em homenagem aos Pretos-velhos, della durata di 26 ore, in cui fotografi come Ernesto Carriço, Letícia Pontual, Severino Silva, Domingos Peixoto, Hudson Bridges, Eduardo Naddar, Marina Alves e Ricardo Moraes, danno le loro testimonianze sull'evento e mostrano il processo di cattura di queste immagini di bellezza, magia ed emozione.
"The Images of Jongo" shows the journey of photojournalists in their day of rest to a party of the black community in Quilombo São José da Serra, a social organization with 150 years of existence and shows the struggle for the preservation of the African culture in the state of Rio de Janeiro. In these records, the photography is a multiracial element, with roots within African territory and all components moving between the urban and rural Brazil, between the feelings that defines Africa and Latin America. This film is punctuated by the production of images by some of the photojournalists of Rio de Janeiro at the Festa de Jongo em homenagem aos Pretos-velhos, with duration of 26 hours, in which photographers like Ernesto Carriço, Letícia Pontual, Severino Silva, Domingos Peixoto, Hudson Bridges, Eduardo Naddar, Marina Alves and Ricardo Moraes, gives their testimonies about the event and show the process of capture these images of beauty, magic and emotion.
