Abstract: Un viaggio attraverso la memoria di una operatrice sociale che ci svela il perché ha cominciato ad interessarsi al problema della tratta di esseri umani. Un percorso che parte dall'Italia e arriva in Nigeria, passando dalla Sicilia e dall'isola di Sylt, in Germania. Interessanti interviste al Console generale d'Italia in Nigeria, alla direttrice del Naptip, l'organizzazione governativa che protegge le vittime della tratta: quasi sempre bambini e giovani madri. Con testimonianze agghiaccianti a bambini vittime della tratta e salvati dal Naptip. Un viaggio tra Lagos, l'ex capitale nigeriana, e il pericoloso ghetto di Ajegunle e la storia di una star della canzone nigeriana a suo tempo ex bambino soldato: Daddy Showkey; passando poi per Abuja fino ad arrivare a Benin City. Immagini, suoni, voci, canzoni di una terra proibita con scene di voodoo in un villaggio di stregoni sull'acqua. Scene di fiction per ricostruire fedelmente la storia di una famiglia che è costretta a vendere il proprio figlio per cambiare vita e sdebitarsi.
A journey through the memory of a social worker who reveals why she decided to take an interest in the problem of human trafficking. A journey that starts in Italy and arrives in Nigeria, passing through Sicily and the island of Sylt in Germany.
