Abstract: Il sole sorge veloce in Guatemala mentre la gente de "L'Aurora - l'alba della speranza" si prepara a celebrare l'anniversario del primo anno di vita della loro comunità. Soldati armati entrano nel villaggio, i bambini accorrono. Non avevano mai visto uomini così nei campi profughi, dove sono cresciuti. Gli abitanti del villaggio si riuniscono, accusano la pattuglia di quello che l'esercito ha fatto alle loro famiglie una dozzina di anni prima. Presto avrà luogo uno degli oltre 600 massacri che hanno avuto luogo in questo piccolo paese, ma sarà anche l'inizio di qualcosa di nuovo: per la prima volta i sopravvissuti vanno in tribunale presentando una denuncia per crimini di Stato.
The sun is rising fast in Guatemala as the people of "La Aurora - The Dawn of Hope" prepare to celebrate the one-year anniversary of their community. Armed soldiers enter the village, the children rush in. They had never seen such men in the refugee camps where they grew up. The villagers gather, accuse the patrol of what the army did to their families a dozen years earlier. Soon, one of the more than 600 massacres that have taken place in this small village will take place, but it will also be the beginning of something new: for the first time, the survivors go to court and file a complaint for state crimes.
