Abstract: "Ricordo che un giorno, all'inizio della stagione estiva, mio cugino Regis venne a trovarmi con la faccia così triste che pensai gli fosse successo qualcosa di veramente brutto. E avevo ragione. Il suo bar di tutti i giorni - il famoso Atomic della Provenza francese - stava per chiudere alla fine della stagione. Dopo 30 anni di dura abnegazione, il proprietario aveva deciso di ritirarsi. E se non fosse riuscito a trovare un acquirente per il suo locale, avrebbe chiuso definitivamente. La tristezza di mio cugino ha suscitato il mio interesse. E due giorni dopo ero lì. Nel corridoio. Con la mia attrezzatura cinematografica, in mezzo ai clienti abituali. Alcuni allungavano il collo verso di me, altri ridevano una volta e poi chiudevano la bocca per sempre, ma la maggior parte di loro ha accettato la mia presenza. "I remember one day, at the beginning of the summer season, my cousin Regis came to see me looking so sad that I thought something really bad had happened to him. And I was right. His everyday bar - the famous 'Atomic' in French Provence - was closing at the end of the season. After 30 years of hard work, the owner had decided to retire. And if he couldn't find a buyer for his place, he would close down for good. My cousin's sadness piqued my interest. And two days later I was there. In the hallway. With my film equipment, among the regulars. Some stretched their necks towards me, others laughed once and then closed their mouths forever, but most of them accepted my presence. And with a delicate gentleness they told me the stories of this disappearing world" (X. Dancusse).
