Abstract: Oggigiorno il ritmo quotidiano va sempre più veloce e abbiamo la "libertà" di prendere decisioni che influenzano molti aspetti delle nostre vita. Ma davvero si sta meglio che 25 anni fa? Il film segue otto cittadini svedesi per un periodo di alcuni anni: una donna in carriera, che ha acceso un'ipoteca di sei milioni che la rende assai insicura; una giovane coppia che ha deciso andare a vivere nei boschi dello Jämtland senza elettricità; un contadino che diffonde messaggi politici utilizzando i suoi campi. Le loro scelte di vita sono consapevoli e articolate. Tuttavia, i nuovi mezzi di scelta comportano davvero maggiore libertà?
Nowadays the pace of everyday life is getting faster and faster and we have the 'freedom' to make decisions that affect many aspects of our lives. But is it really better than 25 years ago? The film follows eight Swedish citizens over a period of several years: a career woman who has taken out a six million mortgage that makes her very insecure; a young couple who have decided to go and live in the forests of Jämtland without electricity; a farmer who spreads political messages using his fields. Their life choices are conscious and articulate. However, do the new means of choice really mean more freedom?
