Abstract: In Nicaragua l'aborto è illegale, anche qualora la gravidanza si rivelasse mortalmente rischiosa per la donna, il rischio per chi effettua l'aborto terapeutico è di finire in prigione. Questa situazione è l'effetto di un patto stipulato tra il presidente del Nicaragua, l'ex rivoluzionario socialista Daniel Ortega, e la Chiesa cattolica in vista delle elezioni politiche del 2006. Il film racconta i movimenti femministi che si battono contro le gravi conseguenze che questo accordo politico ha prodotto sulle loro vite.
Abortion is illegal in Nicaragua, even if the pregnancy proves to be fatally risky for the woman, the risk for those who perform therapeutic abortions is to end up in prison. This situation is the effect of a pact made between Nicaragua's president, the former socialist revolutionary Daniel Ortega, and the Catholic Church with a view to the 2006 general election. The film recounts the feminist movements fighting against the serious consequences that this political agreement has had on their lives.
