Abstract: Nel maggio 2008 il ciclone Nargis ha imperversato per ore sul delta dell'Ayeyarwaddy, nel Myanmar, uccidendo 140.000 persone. Sette giorni dopo la tempesta, siamo andati nei villaggi che erano stati completamente devastati e abbiamo incontrato persone che avevano perso tutto a causa del ciclone. Abbiamo registrato scene che ci hanno toccato nel profondo, come i sopravvissuti inzuppati di pioggia che cercavano legno e chiodi nel fango per costruirsi un tetto sulla testa. La vita continuava, in qualche modo, nel pił fragile degli scenari, eppure sembrava che il tempo si fosse fermato.
In May 2008, Cyclone Nargis raged for hours over the Ayeyarwaddy Delta in Myanmar, killing 140,000 people. Seven days after the storm, we went to villages that had been completely devastated and met people who had lost everything to the cyclone. We recorded scenes that touched us deeply, such as rain-soaked survivors searching for wood and nails in the mud to build a roof over their heads. Life went on, somehow, in the most fragile of settings, and yet it seemed as if time had stopped.
