Abstract: "Aveva fatto un bel matrimonio, poi è stata ripudiata dal marito e le è stato portato via il figlio. È rimasta sola per il resto della sua vita, travolta dalla tempesta della storia tumultuosa della sua terra: il Vietnam. È morta tre anni fa. Come vuole la nostra tradizione, i corpi non vanno lasciati in luogo anonimo, per cui siamo andati a recuperare le sue ossa per ripulirle e portarle al suo villaggio natale. Questa donna era mia nonna" (X.-L. Guyot)
"She had a good marriage, then she was disowned by her husband and her son was taken away from her. She remained alone for the rest of her life, swept up in the storm of the tumultuous history of her homeland: Vietnam. She died three years ago. As our tradition dictates, bodies should not be left in an anonymous place, so we went to retrieve her bones to clean them up and take them back to her home village. This woman was my grandmother" (X.-L. Guyot).
