Abstract: Nel 1968 Dennis Banks ha co-fondato l'American Indian Movement (A.I.M.) per richiamare l'attenzione della collettivitą sulla difficile situazione degli indiani urbani di Minneapolis, Minnesota. Il film propone un ritratto intimo di Dennis Banks a partire dalla sua prima esperienza in collegio, attraversando il periodo del servizio militare in Giappone, la sua esperienza trasformativa nella prigione statale di Stillwater e la successiva fondazione di un movimento che, attraverso azioni intraprese a Washington DC, a Custer, South Dakota e a Wounded Knee (dove ebbe luogo un celebre sterminio) ha cambiato per sempre la vita dei nativi americani - e di tutti i popoli indigeni.
In 1968, Dennis Banks co-founded the American Indian Movement (A.I.M.) to draw community attention to the plight of urban Indians in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The film offers an intimate portrait of Dennis Banks from his early boarding school experience, through his military service in Japan, his transformative experience in Stillwater State Prison and the subsequent founding of a movement that, through actions in Washington DC, Custer, South Dakota and Wounded Knee (where a famous extermination took place) changed the lives of Native Americans - and all indigenous peoples - forever.
