Abstract: La regista fonde il raggiungimento della mezza età con la sua personale ricerca della verità dietro i miti legati alla vita provocatoria di Artemisia Gentileschi, l'artista del XVIII secolo. Il film porta il pubblico a stretto contatto con i dipinti e le parole della Gentileschi, viaggiando in Italia, a Casa Buonarroti, al Museo di Capodimonte, a Palazzo Pitti, all'Archivio di Stato di Roma e nelle case di collezionisti privati a Milano, Firenze e Roma. Un omaggio a ruota libera a un'artista che ha attraversato i secoli per parlare a tutti noi, ricordandoci il potere duraturo della narrazione.
The filmmaker merges reaching middle age with her personal search for the truth behind the myths associated with the provocative life of Artemisia Gentileschi, the 18th century artist. The film brings the audience into close contact with Gentileschi's paintings and words, travelling around Italy, to Casa Buonarroti, the Capodimonte Museum, Palazzo Pitti, the State Archives in Rome and the homes of private collectors in Milan, Florence and Rome. A freewheeling homage to an artist who has crossed the centuries to speak to us all, reminding us of the enduring power of narrative.
