Abstract: Questo road movie porta lo spettatore in un tetro viaggio dalle rive del Mar Nero al cuore ghiacciato di Chernobyl, passando attraverso paesaggi desolati e innevati, disseminati di villaggi abbandonati. Accovacciato in questo deserto ghiacciato, il sarcofago spettrale del reattore numero 4 è un ricordo costante della minaccia ancora in agguato. Mentre l'inverno esercita la sua presa, il ghiaccio tiene a bada le radiazioni nascoste, ma il disgelo primaverile rilascerà ancora una volta il flusso tossico nei fiumi circostanti. Accompagnato dalla testimonianza di un gruppo di veterani del disastro, il film testimonia sia la follia e la resilienza degli uomini che la fragilità della natura.
This road movie takes the viewer on a bleak journey from the shores of the Black Sea to the frozen heart of Chernobyl, passing through desolate, snowy landscapes dotted with abandoned villages. Crouching in this frozen wilderness, the ghostly sarcophagus of reactor number 4 is a constant reminder of the threat still lurking. As winter exerts its grip, the ice keeps hidden radiation at bay, but the spring thaw will once again release the toxic flux into the surrounding rivers. Accompanied by the testimony of a group of veterans of the disaster, the film testifies to both the folly and resilience of humans and the fragility of nature.
