Abstract: "Il piacere dell'onestà": William Benson trova un clip fermasoldi contenente 92.000 dollari, li porta alla banca e avvisa la polizia. Il Capitano Bone riesce a identificare la clip, ma sostiene che conteneva 102.000 dollari e accusa Benson del furto. "Il metodo Schartz": una governante particolare per i signori Wellington ben presto si rivela di essere tutto fuorché una governante. "Regeressione": lo sceriffo Andy Willet indaga sull'omicidio di un uomo ucciso con una chiave inglese. Il sospettato è Phil Canby che aveva avuto una relazione con la figlia dell'ucciso.
